Arunachal University of Studies
has been established by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh
through an Act of State Legislator. The Arunachal University
of Studies is recognized by UGC u/s 2(f) and is empowered to
award degrees specified u/s 22 of UGC Act of 1956. The
University is the Regular member of Association of Indian
Universities (AIU), New Delhi. The Certifications issued by
the University are acceptable in the other member Universities
of AIU.
Since its inception, the university has created several
laurels in the education field and has received appreciations
from different quarters from the eminent personalities,
organizations etc. In continuance, the University has been
awarded “Best Emerging University in North East” by Hon’ble
Union Minister of HRD, Sh. Prakash Javadekar Ji at National
Education excellence awards 2017 conducted by ASSOCHAM.

Bharathiar
University is a state university in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu,
South India. Named after Tamil poet Subramania Bharathiar, the
university was established in February 1982 under the
provision of Bharathiar University Act, 1981 (Act 1 of 1982)
and was recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC)
in 1985.
The
university is in the foothills of Marudamalai road,
Coimbatore
and has jurisdiction over the districts of
Coimbatore,
Erode and the Nilgiris. It has 104 affiliated institutions (80
arts and science colleges, 29 colleges of education, eight
management institutions, one Air Force administration college
and one college of physical education).
The
university was established at Coimbatore by the government of
Tamil Nadu in February, 1982 under the provision of the
Bharathiar University Act, 1981 (Act 1 of 1982). The
Postgraduate Centre of the University of Madras, which was
functioning in Coimbatore before 1982 formed the core of the
Bharathiar University. In May, 1985 the university received
recognition from the University Grants Commission New Delhi
for the purpose of grants.
The
university is named after the great national poet Subramania
Bharathi, with the motto “Educate to Elevate”.
Bharathiar
University celebrated its silver jubilee celebrations on 24
February 2007. The then president of India, A. P. J. Abdul
Kalam, and the then chief minister of Tamil Nadu, Karunanidhi,
were chief guests. Bharathiar University provides graduate,
masters, M.Phil and Ph.D programs in various subjects. The
university is known for its stringent Phd evaluation
guidelines.

Tamil Nadu Open University

Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU) is the 10th Open University
in the country, was established in 2002 by the government of
Tamil Nadu,
India.
This university aims at benefitting the sections of people who
have been deprived of and/or denied access to higher
education. The community of the deprived includes the
destitute, the physically challenged, the working men and
women, the economically weaker and marginalised people, and
the drop-outs owing to various reasons. In nutshell, it aims
at reaching the hitherto unreached. Within a decade, since its
existence, the TNOU has remarkably catered to the learning
needs of more than 5 lakh students with over 100 programmes,
through 13 schools and 7 divisions. It has a well-knitted
network of student support services with 4 University Co-ordinating
Centres (UCC), 152 Learning Resource Centres (LRC), 165
Computer Programme Centres, 195 Community Colleges, 10 General
B.Ed. Programme Study Centres (PSC), 13 Special B.Ed.
Programme Study Centres, 9 Special Centres in Prisons, 33
Off-campus Centres, 3 Counselling and Psychotherapy Centres.
In addition, the University has entered into a MoU with
various Virtual Study Centres (VSCs). It offers subjects in
the Open pattern. There is a minimum set of qualifications for
entry. Diplomas, certificates, undergraduate and postgraduate
courses are offered. It is modelled on the lines of the Indira
Gandhi National Open University. It has ease of entry and a
flexible examination system as the main advantages. Its
vocational courses are useful for knowledge as well as job
opportunities. It is situated at Anna Salai, Saidapet,
Chennai.

Periyar
University is a university located in Salem, Tamil Nadu,
India. It was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu in
1997. The university is named after a social reformer Thanthai
Periyar E. V. Ramasamy. The University Grants Commissions, New
Delhi bestowed the 2f status in 1998 and 12(B) status in 2005
to the university. The university is accredited by NAAC with
'A' grade. It has been awarded a Cumulative Grade Point
Average (CGPA) of 3.15 points (performance descriptor “Very
Good”). The Government of Tamil Nadu established
Periyar
University
at Salem on 17 September 1997 as per the provisions of the Periyar University Act, 1997. The
University caters to affiliated colleges under the area
comprising the districts of
Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri. The University
got the 12(B) and 2f status from the University Grants
Commission and was accredited by NAAC with B+ grade in 2007,
which has been upgraded to 'A' during the reaccreditation in
May 2015.
